Clonice Tablet contains clonidine, which relaxes and widens the blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood to all parts of the body. This, in turn, helps in decreasing the raised blood pressure and the risk of having a heart attack or stroke in future.

In some cases, you may experience common side effects, such as headache, tiredness, dry mouth, weakness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and constipation. Most of these side effects will resolve gradually over time. However, speak to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Inform your doctor if you are allergic to Clonice Tablet or any other components present in it. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, electrolyte levels, and kidney functioning is advised while taking Clonice Tablet . Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Dry mouth could be a side-effect of Clonice Tablet . Limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking and mouthwashes containing alcohol, drinking water regularly, and chewing sugar-free gum/candy might stimulate saliva and prevent drying of the mouth.

Please do not stop taking Clonice Tablet without consulting your doctor, as it may lead to a rise in blood pressure. Continue taking Clonice Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it to you. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you experience any difficulty while taking Clonice Tablet .

Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Clonice Tablet . So, it is advisable to drink lots of fluids and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or experience severe diarrhoea, consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.

You are advised to inform the doctor that you are taking Clonice Tablet if you are due to undergo any surgery or medical procedure. Clonice Tablet can be taken up to 4 hours before surgery. Try not to take it within the 4 hours before your surgery. However, you can restart it right away after surgery.

Combining heart rate-controlling drugs (like digoxin, epinephrine, diltiazem and verapamil) with Clonice Tablet can slow your heart rate. So, consult any heart specialist or cardiologist before using both drugs together.
