Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule is used in the prevention of heart attack, myocardial infarction (blockage of the blood to muscles of the heart), angina (chest pain), and stroke. A heart attack occurs when your coronary arteries (blood vessels supplying blood and oxygen to the heart) become blocked due to the buildup of fats (plaque), including cholesterol.

Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule is a combination of Atorvastatin and Clopidogrel. Atorvastatin blocks the ability of the body to produce bad cholesterol and improves the ability of the body to make good cholesterol. Clopidogrel works by decreasing the production of clots, which is harmful to the body.

Not everyone who is taking Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule will get these side effects. You may sometimes experience headaches, ankle swelling (oedema), slow heart rate, dizziness, and nausea. Most of these side effects of Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Inform your physician if you are allergic to Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule . Before starting the dose of Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule , let your doctor know if you are sensitive to atorvastatin or clopidogrel or have any active liver disease (liver enzyme abnormalities), active bleeding issues (like peptic ulcer, brain haemorrhage), or muscle problems (myopathy or rhabdomyolysis), or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding. 

Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule is used in the treatment of hyperlipidemia (increased cholesterol) and the prevention of cardiovascular events. The detailed uses of Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule are as follows:

• Treatment of Hyperlipidemia: Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule is used to treat hyperlipidemia by lowering cholesterol levels, particularly LDL (bad) cholesterol.
• Prevention of Heart Attacks: Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule helps to prevent heart attacks by inhibiting platelet aggregation, reducing the risk of blood clots.
• Stroke Prevention: Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule helps prevent strokes by reducing platelet aggregation, thereby decreasing the risk of clot formation in blood vessels.

• Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule can be taken with or without food as advised by your doctor.
• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication to ensure safety.
• Swallow Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not chew, crush or break it.

• Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication that blocks the enzyme required to make cholesterol in the body.

• Atorvastatin present in Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule is a pregnancy category X drug, so it is contraindicated in pregnant women. It may cause harm to the foetus if administered to pregnant women.
• The risk of muscle disease might increase if Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule is taken with an antibiotic (clarithromycin), anti-HIV drugs (ritonavir, lopinavir, darunavir, atazanavir, indinavir) and antifungal (itraconazole).
• Coadministration with anticoagulants like warfarin may cause gastric bleeding and other bleeding problems. So, if you are using any blood-thinning agents, let your doctor know.
• Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule contains atorvastatin, which can cause muscle problems like myopathy and rhabdomyolysis.
• Patients with active liver disease should use the Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule with caution.
• The safety and effectiveness of Clopitab-CV 20 Capsule have not been established, so its use should be avoided in paediatric patients or children younger than ten years of age.
