About Cortwell-MC Cream

Cortwell-MC Cream is used to treat fungal skin infections such as eczema (inflamed, itchy, cracked, and rough skin patches), psoriasis (skin cells multiply rapidly to form bumpy red patches covered with white scales), and dermatoses (lesions or eruptions of the skin).

Cortwell-MC Cream is composed of Mometasone furoate and Clotrimazole. Mometasone furoate blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen and itchy. Clotrimazole stops the growth of fungi by damaging and leaking the fungal cell membrane.

Cortwell-MC Cream has common side effects, such as itching, dryness, redness, and a burning sensation at the application site. These side effects usually do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these symptoms persist or worsen, please reach out to your doctor.

Cortwell-MC Cream is for topical (for skin) use only. Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions to Cortwell-MC Cream or other medications. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before starting Cortwell-MC Cream. Cortwell-MC Cream is not recommended for children below two years of age.

How Cortwell-MC Cream Works

Cortwell-MC Cream is composed of two medicines: Mometasone furoate (corticosteroid) and Clotrimazole (antifungal). • Mometasone furoate belongs to the class of corticosteroids. Corticosteroids have anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and antiproliferative (inhibit cell growth) properties. It blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen and itchy. It effectively treats inflammation and itchiness caused by eczema and psoriasis. • Clotrimazole is an antifungal medication that treats fungal infections, such as vaginal yeast infections, oral thrush, athlete's foot, jock itch and ringworm. It stops the growth of fungi by causing damage and leakage to the fungal cell membrane.
