About D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml

D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml is a vitamin supplement primarily used to treat vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency occurs when your body has low Vitamin D levels and is caused by inadequate nutrition, intestinal malabsorption, or lack of sunlight exposure. It effectively treats various conditions, including low calcium levels, osteoporosis (weak bones), latent tetany (a muscle disease characterized by low blood calcium levels), and rickets or osteomalacia (softening of bones due to low calcium levels).

D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml contains Cholecalciferol, a form of vitamin D. It promotes the absorption of calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin A from different organs and helps maintain overall health.

D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml is safe to use in children when recommended by the paediatrician. D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml is likely safe to consume. In rare cases, it may cause side effects such as constipation, increased blood calcium levels, elevated calcium levels in urine, vomiting, and nausea. These side effects typically do not require medical attention and usually resolve gradually over time. If these side effects persist, please consult your physician immediately.

What if I have taken an overdose of D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml

As D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml is a parenteral formulation administered by experienced medical staff, the chance of overdose may be less. However, if you think there has been an overdose or experiencing any adverse events, get medical care right away. Overdose of D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml may cause anorexia, arrhythmias, constipation, calcification of soft tissues, changes in ECG measurements, diarrhoea, fatigue, headache, kidney failure, muscle weakness, muscle and joint pain, nausea, nephrocalcinosis, polydipsia, polyuria formation of renal calculi, pancreatitis, and vomiting.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Include dairy products like milk, yoghurt, cheese or milk-based custard in your diet.
  • Eat daily a serving of broccoli, cabbage, bok choy, spinach and other green leafy vegetables.
  • Include the best dietary sources of vitamin D, such as fish liver oils and vitamin D–fortified milk.
  • Snack on calcium-rich nuts like Brazil nuts or almonds.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds over your food, vegetables and salads. Sesame seeds are high in calcium.
  • Avoid or reduce the intake of caffeine, soft drinks and alcohol that inhibit calcium absorption.
  • Replace the meat with tofu or tempeh for extra calcium in your food.

D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml is a dietary supplement that consists of Cholecalciferol or Vitamin D3. It regulates calcium and phosphate metabolism and works by increasing the amount of vitamin D in the body.
D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml is used to increase low levels of calcium in the body. Hence it is not advised to use D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml during hypercalcaemia since it causes an overdose of calcium leading to kidney stones and other effects.
Avoid taking more than one multivitamin product concomitantly unless advised by the doctor. Taking similar nutritional supplements simultaneously can lead to a vitamin overdose or other serious side effects.
D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml may increase the absorption of Aluminium in antacids. Hence it is advised to take D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml two hours before or four hours after taking antacids.
Fatty fish (tuna, trout, salmon, and mackerel), fish liver oil, egg yolk, and beef liver are good sources of Vitamin D. Vitamin D-fortified foods like plant milk, dairy, juices, and breakfast cereals are also good sources of Vitamin D.
Not getting enough vitamin D through diet/food, limited exposure to sunlight, organs such as the liver or kidney not being able to convert vitamin D to its active form in the body, taking medicines which interfere with the absorption of vitamin D may cause deficiency of vitamin D.
D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml is administered either intramuscularly or subcutaneously by a healthcare professional.
D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml helps treat and prevent bone disorders, supports immune health, and promotes muscle and nerve functioning. It aids the absorption of calcium and makes the bones strong.
Since a doctor will administer D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml, he/she will determine the time of administration.
People who are allergic to vitamin D, have hypervitaminosis D (high levels of vitamin D), hypercalcemia (high levels of calcium) or malabsorption syndrome should not take D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml.
Too much vitamin D may cause hypervitaminosis D (high levels of vitamin D). However, as D3Lok-6L Injection 1 ml is administered by a doctor it is unlikely to overdose on this medicine.
The amount of Vitamin D3 needed depends on age. The average daily recommended amount as per NIH is Birth-12 months: 400IU 1-13 years: 600IU 14-18 years: 600IU 19-70 years: 600IU 71 years and older: 800IU Pregnant and breastfeeding women: 600IU
