Dexol Tablet is used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The detailed uses of Dexol Tablet are as follows:

• Treats acid reflux (GERD): Dexol Tablet helps to relieve symptoms of GERD such as heartburn, acid regurgitation, and chest discomfort by reducing excess stomach acid.
• Heals peptic ulcers: Dexol Tablet helps to heal sores in the stomach or upper part of the intestine. It prevents them from coming back.
• Controls excess acid production: Dexol Tablet is used to treat conditions like Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, where the stomach produces too much acid.

Dexol Tablet contains Dexrabeprazole used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Dexol Tablet blocks the action of proton pumps that are involved in producing stomach acid. Thereby, Dexol Tablet reduces the amount of acid produced by the stomach and prevents excess acid from flowing back into the food pipe. Thus, it provides relief from heartburn symptoms related to acid reflux. Also, Dexol Tablet may be used in combination with clarithromycin and amoxicillin (antibiotics) to eradicate Helicobacter pylori (a type of bacteria) from the stomach in patients with peptic ulcers.

• Dexol Tablet should be taken before a meal.
• It is usually taken once daily, preferably in the morning, or as prescribed by your doctor.
• Swallow Dexol Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, chew, or break it.

• Eat smaller meals more often.
• Maintain a healthy weight by regular exercising.
• Avoid lying down after eating as it causes acid reflux.
• Avoid tight-fitting clothes as it might increase the pressure on the abdomen leading to acid reflux.
• Practice relaxation techniques and avoid stress by doing yoga or meditation.
• Avoid foods such as high-fat food, spicy food, chocolates, citrus fruits, pineapple, tomato, onion, garlic, tea, and soda.
• Avoid sitting continuously as it may trigger acidity. Take a break of 5 minutes every hour by doing brisk walking or stretching.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. Alcohol intake leads to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increasing acidity and heartburn.

If you are allergic to Dexol Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Dexol Tablet is not recommended for children as safety and effectiveness were not established. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before taking Dexol Tablet . If you have a stomach tumor, liver problems, low magnesium levels in the blood, osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), or lupus (an autoimmune disorder), inform your doctor before taking Dexol Tablet . Inform your doctor if you have any risk factors for reduced vitamin B12 as Dexol Tablet may reduce the absorption of vitamin B12. If you get any skin rash, particularly in areas exposed to sun or pain in joints, inform your doctor. If you are taking Dexol Tablet for more than 1 year, it may increase the risk of fracture of the spine, hip, or wrist. Drive only if you are alert as Dexol Tablet may cause drowsiness. Avoid alcohol consumption as it may lead to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increasing acidity and heartburn. Dexol Tablet may decrease magnesium levels in the blood, especially if taken for more than 3 months. Therefore, regular blood tests are recommended to monitor magnesium levels. If you experience bloody or watery diarrhea with symptoms such as stomach pain, fever, or tenderness, contact your doctor immediately.
