Diocid-O Tablet contains Omeprazole and Ondansetron, which are used in the treatment of vomiting (being sick) and nausea (feeling sick) that usually occur after cancer chemotherapy, radiation treatment, or surgery. Omeprazole reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces and prevents excess acid from flowing back into the food pipe. Ondansetron works by blocking the action of serotonin, a chemical that stimulates the vomiting centre located in the brain. Thus, it prevents nausea and vomiting.

About Diocid-O Tablet

Diocid-O Tablet is used in the treatment of vomiting (being sick) and nausea (feeling sick) that usually occur after cancer chemotherapy, radiation treatment or surgery. It may also be indicated in conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and ulcers in the stomach or intestine. Nausea is an uneasy feeling in which a person feels an urge to vomit, while vomiting is forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of stomach contents through the mouth.

Diocid-O Tablet is a combination of two drugs, namely Omeprazole (proton pump inhibitor) and Ondansetron (anti-emetic). Omeprazole reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces and prevents excess acid from flowing back into the food pipe. Ondansetron works by blocking the action of serotonin, a chemical that stimulates the vomiting centre (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) located in the brain. Thus, it prevents nausea and vomiting.
