Dutamax Lotion 60 ml is used to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia). Alopecia is the thinning or loss of hair on the scalp or any body part. Androgenetic alopecia is the permanent hair loss from the scalp that causes baldness.
Dutamax Lotion 60 ml contains Dutasteride, which works by decreasing dihydrotestosterone (a hormone that can cause hair loss) levels and thus helps to prevent or slow down hair loss.
Use Dutamax Lotion 60 ml as advised by your doctor. Sometimes, Dutamax Lotion 60 ml may cause itching or irritation at the application site. Dutamax Lotion 60 ml belongs to the class of medicines called 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors. It contains Dutasteride, which is used to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia). Dutasteride blocks the action of the 5-alpha-reductase enzyme in the body that converts testosterone (male hormone) into dihydrotestosterone, a hormone that causes hair loss. Thereby, it reduces dihydrotestosterone levels and slows down or prevents hair loss. Also, it improves hair growth.
Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to Dutasteride or other medicines. Dutamax Lotion 60 ml is for external use only. It is not recommended for children. You are advised to use Dutamax Lotion 60 ml for as long as your doctor prescribes it for effective results. Do not stop using Dutamax Lotion 60 ml abruptly, as it may result in the loss of regrown hair within a few months. If you have an enlarged prostate gland, inform your doctor before using Dutamax Lotion 60 ml.
Drug-Drug Interaction: If you are taking medicines used in the treatment of an enlarged prostate (terazosin, prazosin, doxazosin), inform your doctor.
