About Eriglip M Tablet

Eriglip M Tablet belongs to the group of medications called ‘antidiabetic agents’ used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. This medication improves glycaemic control in diabetic patients who do not react well to Metformin alone.

Eriglip M Tablet contains Metformin and Teneligliptin. Metformin acts by decreasing liver glucose production and intestinal glucose uptake. On the other hand, Teneligliptin increases the insulin levels in the body and reduces the glucagon levels. Together, Eriglip M Tablet helps treat type 2 diabetes.

Eriglip M Tablet may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, stomach ache, respiratory infection, weight gain, and sweating. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and will likely resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.

Do not take Eriglip M Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medicines or have pre-existing medical conditions to prevent any potential interactions.

  • Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Eriglip M Tablet improves glycemic control in adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
  • Improves Insulin Sensitivity: Eriglip M Tablet helps the body respond better to insulin.
  • Reduces Glucose Production: Eriglip M Tablet suppresses the excess sugar made by the liver.
  • Adjunct to lifestyle and therapy: Eriglip M Tablet is prescribed alongside a healthy diet, regular physical activity to manage type 2 diabetes more effectively.

  • Swallow Eriglip M Tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
  • Do not crush, chew, or break it.

Medicinal Benefits

  • Eriglip M Tablet is indicated for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It contains Metformin and Teneligliptin.
  • Metformin is a biguanide, which works by reducing the production of glucose in the liver and decreasing its absorption from the intestines, thereby lowering blood sugar levels.
  • Teneligliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that increases insulin secretion and decreases glucagon levels in the blood, especially after meals.
  • It is used when patients are unable to achieve sufficient glycemic control through lifestyle modifications such as diet and physical activity alone.
  • Eriglip M Tablet is suitable for patients who have not responded adequately to treatment with sulfonylureas (e.g., glimepiride, gliclazide) in combination with dietary control and exercise.
  • It may also be prescribed when treatment with thiazolidinediones (e.g., pioglitazone) along with diet and exercise has failed to achieve satisfactory blood glucose control.

How Eriglip M Tablet Works

Eriglip M Tablet is a combination of two medicines, namely: Metformin and Teneligliptin. Metformin acts by decreasing liver glucose production and intestinal glucose uptake. On the other hand, Teneligliptin works by inhibiting the action of the dipeptidyl Peptidase 4 enzyme, which in turn increases insulin levels in the body and reduces glucagon levels.
