About Estine Capsule

Estine Capsule is an anti-cancer medicine used in the treatment of brain tumors. A tumor is defined as the formation of solid mass tissue due to the abnormal growth of cells. Estine Capsule is used in the treatment of primary and metastatic brain tumors along with appropriate surgical or radiotherapeutic procedures. A brain tumor is a serious condition where the cells (cancerous or non-cancerous) grow abnormally in the brain. Estine Capsule is also used in the treatment of Hodgkin’s Disease when used in combination with other chemotherapies.

Estine Capsule contains Lomustine, which belongs to the alkylating agents class. It works by inhibiting the DNA and RNA transcription that is essential for protein synthesis. This causes shrinkage of tumor cells and thereby prevents the growth and further spread of cancerous or non-cancerous cells.

Estine Capsule may cause certain side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, headache, visual disturbances, blindness, disorientation, lack of energy, loss of control, and difficulty talking. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. Estine Capsule should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more than the recommended dose of medicine.

Estine Capsule should be avoided if you are allergic to it or any other components present in it. Take Estine Capsule as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more than the prescribed dose of medicine, as it can cause fatal toxicity. Swallow the medicine as a whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush, or break the medicine. This medicine should be taken on an empty stomach 30 minutes before food or at least 2 hours after food. For children who cannot swallow the medicine as a whole, open the capsule and add the powder to a very small amount (1 teaspoon) of applesauce/ice cream and make your child eat all the mixture.
