About Exeget 25 Tablet

Exeget 25 Tablet is used to treat breast cancer in women who have gone through menopause (cessation of menses periods). Breast cancer is a type of cancer that develops in breast cells stimulated by the female sex hormone known as estrogen.

Exeget 25 Tablet contains Exemestane, which works by blocking the aromatase enzyme, which produces the estrogen hormone. Thus, it lowers the amount of estrogen (the natural female hormone) produced in the body.

In some cases, you may experience common side effects such as difficulty sleeping, nausea, headache, musculoskeletal pain, increased sweating, and fatigue. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Exeget 25 Tablet should not be taken in conditions like liver and kidney disease. Talk to your doctor before taking Exeget 25 Tablet if you have any type of allergy with Exeget 25 Tablet or any part of Exeget 25 Tablet .   • Treats Breast Cancer in Postmenopausal Women: Exeget 25 Tablet is used to treat early-stage, hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in women after menopause (cessation of periods) by reducing estrogen levels, which drives the growth of cancer cells.
  • Maintenance Therapy to Prevent Cancer Recurrence: Exeget 25 Tablet is often prescribed after 2-3 years of tamoxifen therapy (hormone treatment) to reduce the risk of breast cancer recurrence by further suppressing estrogen production.
  • Treats Advanced or Metastatic Breast Cancer: Exeget 25 Tablet is also used to treat advanced hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women when other hormonal therapies have not been effective.

  • Consume more protein-rich foods and healthy fats like beans, avocados, cheese, nuts and lean meats to minimize appetite.
  • Prefer foods high in fiber to help feel full for a long time.
  • If you have decreased appetite, eat only when you are hungry.
  • Eat several small meals or snacks all day.
  • Try to take only small sips of fluids while eating.
  • Get plenty of rest and avoid activities that tire you out to allow your body fight the infection.
  • Drink lots of fluids to help loosen mucus in the lungs.
  • Use over-the-counter medications like paracetamol or ibuprofen to manage fever.
  • Use a humidifier as it helps soothe irritated airways.
  • Do not make changes to your medication schedule or take over-the-counter medicines without consulting your doctor.
  • Eat more plant based foods like vegetables, fruits and whole grains.
  • Reduce intake of foods containing high fat such as dairy, oil and red meat.

What if you forget to take Exeget 25 Tablet

Take the missed dose as soon as you can. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the regular time. Do not double the dose.

You may observe changes in the size, shape and appearance of the breast. The nipple becomes enlarged and painful, and discharge is also one of the symptoms of breast cancer. Yes, Exeget 25 Tablet commonly affects the hair by making it thin, which further causes loss of hair. However, it is not very common. Hair reduction possibly happens due to the estrogen-lowering effect of Exeget 25 Tablet . These effects are not long-lasting and may return after some time. If it matters to you, inform your doctor of another alternative medicine to avoid harm to your hair.
Exeget 25 Tablet causes dizziness and drowsiness. So, drive only if you are alert and omit driving or operating machinery if you feel dizzy or drowsy.
Although there is no known way to prevent breast cancer, there are ways to lower your risk.
