About Foligem Tablet 15's

Foligem Tablet 15's is used to treat or prevent anemia (lack of blood) caused by folic acid deficiency, anaemia in pregnancy, anaemia due to damaged red blood cells, anaemia in kidney dialysis patients. Anemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to various body tissues.

Foligem Tablet 15's contains Folic acid (a form of vitamin B9) that increases healthy red blood cell (RBC) production in the body and carries oxygen throughout the body.

You may experience certain side effects like nausea, black stool, constipation, loss of appetite, bloating or flatulence (gas) in some cases. Most of these side effects of Foligem Tablet 15's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Foligem Tablet 15's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using Foligem Tablet 15's. Foligem Tablet 15's should be used with caution in children and only if recommended by a doctor. Inform your doctor if you have a stomach ulcer, vitamin B12 deficiency, any blood disorder, repeated blood transfusions, ulcerative colitis (inflammation of the colon), pernicious anemia (anemia due to lack of vitamin B12) or a folate-dependent tumor before taking Foligem Tablet 15's.

What if you forget to take Foligem Tablet 15's

If you miss a dose of Foligem Tablet 15's, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

• Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.• Keep Foligem Tablet 15's out of reach and sight of children. • Non cold chain - To be stored in cool places at 10ºC to 25ºC or below 30ºC.

  • Inform your doctor if you have pernicious anaemia (anaemia due to lack of vitamin B12), a tumour or if you are receiving a stent in the heart or undergoing haemodialysis due to kidney failure, before taking Foligem Tablet 15's.
  • You are recommended to maintain a time gap of a minimum of 2 hours between taking Foligem Tablet 15's and indigestion remedies such as antacids containing magnesium or aluminium and edible clay.
  • Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any sugars as Foligem Tablet 15's contains lactose.

Coadministration of Foligem Tablet and Fluorouracil may increase the effects of Fluorouracil and increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anaemia (lack of blood), infections, and nerve damage.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Foligem Tablet and Fluorouracil, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if you experience diarrhoea, paleness of skin, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body pains, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling in your hands and feet, contact your doctor.
