FORSTAVIR L TABLET 1'S

FORSTAVIR L TABLET is used in the treatment of HIV infection. The detailed use of FORSTAVIR L TABLET is as follows:

• HIV-1 Infection: FORSTAVIR L TABLET is used in combination with other antiretroviral agents to reduce viral load and increase CD4 cell count.

FORSTAVIR L TABLET is a combination of two drugs, namely: Lamivudine and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate used to treat HIV infection. Lamivudine is a nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor, whereas Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate is a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor. FORSTAVIR L TABLET interferes with the working of nucleotide and nucleoside reverse transcriptase enzymes necessary for the reproduction of the virus. Together, FORSTAVIR L TABLET helps in treating HIV infection. Taking FORSTAVIR L TABLET along with practicing safe sex and lifestyle changes may reduce the risk of getting or transmitting HIV to others.

• FORSTAVIR L TABLET can be taken with food as prescribed by your doctor.
• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication to ensure safety.
• Swallow FORSTAVIR L TABLET as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not chew, crush, or break it.

• Practise safe sex by using condoms; it helps in reducing contact with semen and vaginal fluids.
• Never share personal items that can have body fluids or blood on them, such as razor blades or toothbrushes.
• Avoid sharing used needles, other injections, or drug equipment.
• Get tested for other sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhea or syphilis as they can make you prone to HIV infection.
• Eat a healthy and balanced diet. Eat vitamin and nutrient-rich food such as dark green, yellow, orange, and red vegetables and fruits as it helps to boost your immune system. Opt for lean protein and whole grains.
• Avoid eating raw meat and eggs. Consume properly boiled and cooked meat, poultry, or seafood.
• Eat bland and low-fat foods and avoid spicy or oily foods if you experience nausea or vomiting.
• Try to reduce emotional and physical stress by spending time with family or doing whatever makes you happy.

If you are allergic to FORSTAVIR L TABLET or any other medicines, soya or peanut, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy, please consult a doctor before taking FORSTAVIR L TABLET. Avoid breastfeeding while taking FORSTAVIR L TABLET as it may pass into breast milk. FORSTAVIR L TABLET is not recommended for children below 18 years of age. You are advised to take proper precautions if you are infected with HIV infection to prevent the spread of infection to others through sexual contact or body fluids. If you experience stomach pain, vomiting or nausea while taking FORSTAVIR L TABLET, please consult a doctor immediately as these might be symptoms of a rare but severe side effect known as lactic acidosis (excess of lactic acid in the blood). You are recommended to avoid consumption of alcohol with FORSTAVIR L TABLET as it may increase the risk of liver damage. Drive only if you are alert as FORSTAVIR L TABLET may cause dizziness.
