Involym Tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections and acne. The detailed uses of Involym Tablet are as follows:

• Treatment of Bacterial Infections: Involym Tablet is effective against bacterial infections in various parts of the body, including the lungs, urinary tract, and eyes.
• Management of Acne: Involym Tablet is commonly prescribed for acne treatment, targeting bacteria that contribute to skin issues.
• Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs): Involym Tablet is used to treat certain sexually transmitted diseases.

• Involym Tablet is a type of tetracycline class of antibiotic which is effective against a wide range of bacteria including gram-negative, gram-positive bacteria and anaerobes.
• It is a derivative of the tetracycline class of antibiotics that inhibits the protein synthesis process required for bacterial growth.
• As a result, bacterial cells are not able to reproduce and grow.
• It is a bacteriostatic antibiotic, i.e. it stops bacteria's growth but does not necessarily kill them. Involym Tablet is primarily used to treat acne.
• Also, used to treat other infections such as acute sinusitis (sinus infection), bronchitis (inflammation of the lining of lungs), infections in the abdomen, and some types of eye infections called trachoma.

• Take Involym Tablet with or after food as advised by a doctor.
• Follow your doctor’s recommendations on the dosage and timing of this medication to achieve optimal results.
• Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, chew, or break it.

• Probiotics should be taken after taking the full course of Involym Tablet to restore some of the healthy bacteria in the intestines that may have been killed. Taking probiotics after antibiotic treatment can reduce the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Certain fermented foods, such as yoghurt, cheese, sauerkraut, kombucha, and kimchi, can help restore the intestine's good bacteria.
• Include more fibre-enriched food in your diet, as it can be easily digested by your gut bacteria, which helps stimulate their growth. Thus, fibre foods may help restore healthy gut bacteria after a course of antibiotics. Whole grains, such as whole-grain bread and brown rice, should be included in your diet.
• Eating grapefruit during antibiotic treatment can prevent the body from properly utilising Involym Tablet . Therefore, avoid consuming grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking the antibiotic.
• Avoid consuming excessive amounts of calcium, iron-enriched foods, and drinks, as this may interfere with the functioning of Involym Tablet .
• Avoid intake of alcoholic beverages with Involym Tablet as it can make you dehydrated and affect your sleep. This can make it harder for your body to aid the Involym Tablet in fighting off infections.

• Iron and antacids (such as magnesium hydroxide and aluminium hydroxide) may bind to Involym Tablet in the gastrointestinal tract, reducing its effectiveness. Therefore, a gap of at least 2 hours should be maintained between the intake of Involym Tablet and iron supplements, as well as antacids.
• Prolonged use of Involym Tablet during tooth development (pregnancy, infancy, and childhood to the age of 12 years) may cause permanent discolouration of the teeth (yellow-grey-brown).
• Do not consume alcohol as it may cause excessive drowsiness when taken along with Involym Tablet , and it may increase the unpleasant side effects. Additionally, in some cases, the use of Involym Tablet can cause antibiotic-associated diarrhoea.
• Before using Involym Tablet , tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergy to Involym Tablet , have kidney problems, liver problems, systemic lupus erythematosus (an allergic condition that causes joint pain, skin rashes or fever) or Myasthenia Gravis (a disease that weakens the muscles).
• Involym Tablet may cause sensitive skin to react to sunlight and ultraviolet rays, resulting in an exaggerated sunburn reaction. Hence, it is advisable to apply sunscreen before stepping outside.
• Inform your doctor before taking Involym Tablet if you are already on medicines like oral retinoids (to treat acne), anticoagulants (to stop the blood clotting), diuretics (used to treat kidney disease, heart disease), medicines for epilepsy (including barbiturates, e.g. phenobarbitone, phenytoin and carbamazepine) and methoxyflurane (an anaesthetic medication).
• It may affect bone and tooth development in unborn babies. Use of Involym Tablet during tooth development (pregnancy, infancy, and childhood to the age of 12 years) may cause permanent staining of teeth (yellow-grey-brown).
• Complete the course of medicine even if you feel better, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will, in fact, stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance).
• Its use should be avoided by pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children below 12 years of age. Do not take Involym Tablet if you have ever had kidney disease.
