Jakauto Ointment belongs to a class of medicines called Janus kinase inhibitors, primarily used to treat alopecia areata (hair loss). Alopecia is the thinning or loss of hair on the scalp or any hair-bearing site on the body. Jakauto Ointment stimulates hair growth and slows down the process of balding. Jakauto Ointment is also used in the treatment of atopic dermatitis.

Jakauto Ointment contains Tofacitinib, which belongs to the class of Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors. It affects hematopoiesis and immune cell activity by transmitting signals resulting from cytokine or growth factor-receptor interactions on the cellular membrane. This helps prevent hair cell death, promotes new hair growth, and reduces the redness and itchiness associated with skin infections.

Take Jakauto Ointment as prescribed by the physician. Jakauto Ointment may cause certain side effects such as excessive hair growth, headache, skin irritation, itching, rashes, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue. If you experience any other symptoms that may be due to Jakauto Ointment, please consult your doctor or pharmacist for further advice.

Avoid using Jakauto Ointment if you are allergic to it or its other components. Let your doctor know if you have a history of liver/ kidney disease using Jakauto Ointment. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before starting Jakauto Ointment. Inform your doctor if you have serious infections, tuberculosis, severe hepatic disease, or anaemia before beginning the treatment, as it can worsen the condition.

Supplying oxygen and nutrients to the hair cell prevents its death and stimulates hair growth. It increases the skin's moisture content. It dissolves the substances that cause the skin cells to stick together, thereby reducing the redness and itchiness associated with skin infections.

Discontinue the medicine and inform your doctor if you observe any allergic reactions during the treatment. Tell your doctor if you have any history of liver/kidney disease before using Jakauto Ointment. If you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding mother, please consult a doctor before using Jakauto Ointment. Avoid smoking or going near naked flames when you have applied the Jakauto Ointment since it can catch fire and burn easily. Avoid contact with the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. In the event of accidental contact, wash the affected area thoroughly with water and consult your doctor. Do not apply the medicine on shaved, inflamed, infected, irritated or painful scalp skin. Jakauto Ointment is not recommended for use in children below 18 years of age. Inform your doctor if you have serious infections, tuberculosis, severe hepatic disease, sepsis, or anaemia before beginning the treatment, as it can worsen the condition.
