About Lacosam Syrup

Lacosam Syrup belongs to the class of anticonvulsants primarily used to lower the number of fits/seizures. It treats partial-onset seizures in adults and children above one month of age and generalised tonic-clonic seizures in adults and children above four years of age.

Lacosam Syrup contains lacosamide, which works by decreasing abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Thereby, it helps treat seizures.

In some cases, Lacosam Syrup may cause common side effects like nausea, headache, double vision (diplopia), vomiting, and diarrhoea. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen.

Do not take Lacosam Syrup if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid discontinuing the medicines on your own, as it may worsen your condition.

What if you forget to take Lacosam Syrup

If you have missed a dose within the first 6 hours of the scheduled dose, take it as soon as you remember.
