About OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML

OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML belongs to the class of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial eye infections including conjunctivitis and ulcers of the cornea. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid. 

OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML contains Ofloxacin which works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, kills bacteria and clears infection.

Use OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML as prescribed by your doctor. OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML is only for use in eyes. You are advised to use OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dry eyes, blurred vision, eye discomfort, eye redness, mild itching, or irritation in the eye. Most of these side effects of OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. 

If you are allergic to OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML should be used for children only in doses as advised by the doctor. OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML contains Ofloxacin used to treat bacterial eye infections. OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML inhibits DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, kills bacteria and clears the infection.

Directions for Use

OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML is for ophthalmic use only. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML. Do not touch the container’s tip to the eye, eyelids, or surrounding areas as it may contaminate OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML.Eye drops: Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Replace the outer cap after use. Eye ointment: Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Squeeze a tiny amount of the ointment into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.

You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML as it contains benzalkonium chloride, a preservative that changes the colour of contact lens as it may be absorbed by soft contact lens. Benzalkonium chloride also causes irritation in the eye especially if you have disorders of cornea (transparent layer at the front of eye) or dry eyes. Therefore, you are advised to remove contact lenses before using OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML and reinsert them after 15 minutes after using OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML. Also, inform your doctor if you experience pain, stinging or abnormal sensation in the eye after using OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML.
OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. Therefore, you are recommended to wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating machinery.
OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML is not used to treat fungal infection in the eye. OJEN EYE DROPS 5ML is only used to treat bacterial eye infections.
