Osys RD Syrup

Osys RD Syrup is indicated in the treatment of diarrhoea in children. Diarrhoea occurs when there is a frequent need to empty the bowels, which is characterized by loose and watery stools.

Osys RD Syrup contains Ofloxacin and Racecadotril. Ofloxacin prevents the growth of bacteria, and Racecadotril reduces the hypersecretion of water into the intestines. Together, Osys RD Syrup helps treat diarrhoea.

In some cases, Osys RD Syrup may cause side effects such as headache, sleepiness, fatigue, and dry mouth. Most of these side effects may not require medical attention and may be resolved over time. However, you are advised to talk to the doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

• Treatment of diarrhea: Osys RD Syrup is commonly prescribed to treat acute diarrhea in children, especially when it is caused by bacterial infections.
• Reducing fluid loss: Osys RD Syrup helps manage diarrhea by both eliminating the infection and reducing fluid loss, which is especially important in children to prevent dehydration.

• Osys RD Syrup can be given to your child with or without food, preferably with food to reduce stomach discomfort.
• Follow the doctor’s instructions regarding the required dosage and timing of this medication for optimal effectiveness.
• Shake the bottle well before each use.
• Give the prescribed dose to your child by mouth using the measuring cup/dosing syringe/dropper provided with the pack.
• Avoid using regular household spoons, as they may not measure the dose correctly.
