Panderm Super Cream belongs to the class of ‘Topical steroid with antifungal and antibacterial agents’, primarily used to treat skin infections, such as eczema (inflamed, itchy, cracked and rough skin patches), dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), psoriasis (skin cells multiply rapidly to form bumpy (uneven) red patches covered with white scales), ringworm, athlete's foot, jock itch, lichen planus (inflammation of the skin and mucous membranes) and tinea versicolor (discoloured patches on the skin). Skin infection occurs when a foreign microbe like fungus or bacteria invades and affects the skin's tissue.

Panderm Super Cream consists of three medicines, namely: Clobetasol (corticosteroid), Clotrimazole (antifungal) and Fusidic acid (antibacterial). Clobetasol is a highly potent ‘corticosteroid’ with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic (relieves itching) and vasoconstrictive (narrows blood vessels) properties. It blocks the production of chemical mediators of inflammation (such as kinins, histamine, liposomal enzymes, and prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Clotrimazole is an ‘antifungal’ medication. It stops the growth of fungi by causing damage and leakage to the fungal cell membrane. On the other hand, Fusidic acid is an ‘antibacterial’ medication that prevents the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Panderm Super Cream is for external use only. Use this medication on the skin only as advised by the doctor. Common side effects of Panderm Super Cream are burning, irritation, itching, redness and thinning of skin at the application site. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. If these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

Side effects of Panderm Super Cream 15 gm
  • Cool the burn by using cool (not cold) running water to reduce tissue damage and pain.
  • Slowly remove any tight clothing or jewellery from the burned area.
  • After cooling, apply a topical ointment like aloevera gel or a mild antibiotic cream to help with healing.
  • Use a clean bandage to protect the burn area from further irritation.
  • Take over-the-counter pain medication if needed.
  • Do not apply butter or other greasy substances, as they can trap bacteria and hinder healing.
  • If the burn covers a large area of skin or if the burn appears to be deeper than the top layer of skin, with blisters or significant redness, consult the doctor and get treated.
  • Consult your doctor if you experience skin redness, itching, or irritation after taking medication.
  • Apply cool compresses or calamine lotion to the affected skin area to reduce irritation.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water to help alleviate symptoms and keep your skin soothing.
  • Monitor your skin condition closely and promptly report any changes, worsening symptoms, or concerns to your healthcare provider.
  • Avoid extreme heat or cold, like hot showers or cold winds, to prevent worsening skin discomfort.

  • If you have severe itching, burning, or blistering seek medical attention.
  • Keep your skin clean by gently washing your face two times daily and after sweating. Choose a mild and non-abrasive cleanser.
  • Use gentle alcohol-free skin care products. Avoid products that might irritate your skin such as exfoliants, astringents and toners.
  • Acne may also occur due to oil in the hair. Thus, if you have oily hair, shampoo more frequently than you do now and keep your hair away from face.
  • Keep your hands off your face as touching face throughout the day might worsen acne. Also, do not pick, squeeze or pop acne as it will prolong the healing process and increase the risk of dark spots and scarring.
  • Avoid tanning by applying a broad spectrum sunscreen and wearing sun-protective clothing when outdoors.
  • Mild hair follicle inflammation often heals on its own without needing treatment.
  • You can apply a warm saltwater or vinegar solution to the affected area with a washcloth, or use over-the-counter antibiotics, oatmeal lotion, or hydrocortisone cream for relief.
  • Avoid making the affected area worse by not shaving, scratching, or wearing tight clothes.
  • Apply a warm compress to the area 3-4 times a day for 15-20 minutes to help speed up healing.
  • Do not scratch, squeeze, or pop any bumps, as this may lead to infection or other problems.
  • If self-care methods fail, consult a doctor for further treatment and advice.
  • Shield your skin from the sun by using sunscreen, seeking shade, and wearing protective clothing.
  • Please don't smoke, as it damages the skin and reduces blood flow.

What if I have taken an overdose of Panderm Super Cream
