Riva-Spar 18 mg Transdermal Patch 1's contains Rivastigmine, which increases the levels of a brain chemical called acetylcholine by blocking the enzyme responsible for its breakdown. This helps nerve cells communicate more effectively, supporting clearer thinking and improved memory.
Riva-Spar 18 mg Transdermal Patch 1's is only for topical use (skin). Apply the patch exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The transdermal patch is to be evenly applied to the skin without hair. It is advised to put the transdermal patch on clean, dry, and healthy skin on the upper or lower back. You can also apply it to the upper arm or chest. The patch should not be applied to damaged or broken skin. Please do not apply a new patch if you are already using one, as it can lead to overdosing. Do not apply creams, oils, lotions, or powders to the application site. Sometimes, a patch may contain metal. Therefore, it is recommended to remove the patch before undergoing MRI.
After using the patch, fold it in half with the adhesive surfaces pressed together inwards, and discard it safely.
