SCABEX S OINTMENT is used to treat wounds, cuts, and minor burns, and protect against infections. In addition to this, it is also used to treat scabies (a contagious, intensely itchy skin condition caused by a tiny, burrowing mite) and pediculosis (a condition in which tiny insects infest the scalp).

SCABEX S OINTMENT contains Cetrimide and Gamma benzene hexachloride(lindane). Cetrimide has antiseptic, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Cetrimide destroys or damages the cell membranes of bacteria; this eventually results in the death of bacteria. Gamma benzene hexachloride(lindane) works by killing the lice and the eggs and mites of scabies. 

The dose and duration will be prescribed by the doctor depending upon your medical condition. The most common side effects of SCABEX S OINTMENT are skin rash, burning, itching, irritation of the skin, tingling, and numbness of the skin, as well as dizziness in some cases. Most of these side effects of SCABEX S OINTMENT do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to SCABEX S OINTMENT or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. SCABEX S OINTMENT is for external use only. Avoid contact of SCABEX S OINTMENT with nose, ears, mouth, or eyes. In case SCABEX S OINTMENT comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, please inform your doctor before taking SCABEX S OINTMENT. Avoid using SCABEX S OINTMENT in large amounts or use for a longer time than prescribed as it does not give quick or better results but increases the risk of side effects. SCABEX S OINTMENT is not recommended in seizure patients. SCABEX S OINTMENT is used with caution in neurotoxicity.

• Treats Pediculosis (Lice Infestation): SCABEX S OINTMENT is also effective in treating lice (Pediculus humanus capitis) infestations by killing lice and their eggs on the scalp and body.
• Prevents Secondary Skin Infections: SCABEX S OINTMENT helps reduce the risk of bacterial infections, especially in areas irritated or damaged by scratching due to scabies or lice.

• Follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
• Apply a thin layer of the lotion on the affected areas. Typically, it is left on for 8-12 hours before washing off with warm water.
• Avoid contact with the nose, mouth or eyes. In case of accidental contact with these areas, rinse with water thoroughly. Wash your hands after using SCABEX S OINTMENT to prevent the spread of infection.
