About SILOTIME 8MG TABLET

SILOTIME 8MG TABLET belongs to the group of medicines called 'alpha-blockers' used to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland (benign prostatic hyperplasia - BPH) in men. The symptoms include painful urination, difficulty in urination, excess urination, and urge incontinence (inability to hold urine for a long time). Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a condition in which there is an enlargement of the prostate gland due to multiplication of the cells mostly in the men above 50 years of age. The growth of the prostate gland is non-cancerous in nature.

SILOTIME 8MG TABLET contains ‘Silodosin’ that blocks receptors (alpha-1), responsible for causing the smooth muscles contraction located in the prostate and bladder and relaxes them. As a result, BPH symptoms like night time urination, sudden urge to urinate, difficulty in urination, and strain while urinating is reduced, and the ability to urinate is increased with increased urine flow/output.
