Sucrasif 170 Ml Syp belongs to a group of antacid medicines that treat acidity-related stomach discomfort, such as heartburn, indigestion, gastritis (stomach inflammation), and stomach upset.
Sucrasif 170 Ml Syp is a combination of three drugs: Aluminium hydroxide (antacid), magnesium hydroxide (antacid) and dimethicone (antiflatulent). Aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide works by neutralising excess stomach acid. Dimethicone works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating gas expulsion through flatus or belching (burping). It also prevents accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract.
Do not take Sucrasif 170 Ml Syp for longer durations unless advised by the doctor. Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better even after taking Sucrasif 170 Ml Syp for 1-2 weeks.
Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Sucrasif 170 Ml Syp. Drink lots of fluids and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience severe diarrhoea, consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
