A wound occurs when your skin is injured or broken, resulting in tissue or skin damage, bleeding, or infection.

Sucraviss-Super Ointment is a combination drug containing Metronidazole, Povidone-Iodine and Sucralfate. Povidone iodine works by inhibiting the growth of infection-causing microbes. Metronidazole inhibits protein synthesis and leads to cell death, thereby killing the bacteria. Sucralfate helps form a protective barrier over the wound to promote healing. Collectively, Sucraviss-Super Ointment helps treat cuts, wounds and infections.

Sucraviss-Super Ointment is for external use only. As with every medicine, Sucraviss-Super Ointment has common side effects. These include local swelling, itchiness, redness, small blisters, and irritation at the application site. These side effects gradually resolve during the treatment and do not require medical attention.

Brief your medical history to the doctor if you are allergic to iodine or povidone. Let your doctor know if you have an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism), thyroid disease, liver, or kidney problems. Using Sucraviss-Super Ointment during breastfeeding may increase the iodine levels in breast milk, which can cause hypothyroidism in breastfed infants. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive before using Sucraviss-Super Ointment.

Sucraviss-Super Ointment is for external use only. Take a small amount of Sucraviss-Super Ointment on your fingertip and apply it as a thin layer to the clean, dry affected area as your doctor prescribes. Avoid contact with the nose or eyes. In case of accidental contact with these areas, rinse them thoroughly with water. Wash your hands before and after using Sucraviss-Super Ointment, especially if your hands are in the affected area, to prevent the spread of infection.

Do not use Sucraviss-Super Ointment if you are allergic to povidone-iodine. Let your doctor know if you have an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism), any other thyroid diseases, or liver and kidney problems since using Sucraviss-Super Ointment can cause iodine absorption into the body. Using Sucraviss-Super Ointment during breastfeeding may increase the iodine levels in breast milk, which can cause hypothyroidism in breastfed infants. Sucraviss-Super Ointment can cause excessive iodine absorption with its vaginal use; hence, avoid douching (washing) with Sucraviss-Super Ointment and iodine-containing tampons during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to conceive before using the Sucraviss-Super Ointment since it can affect the unborn baby.
