Telrose Tablet is used in the treatment of high blood pressure associated with high cholesterol levels. It contains Telmisartan and Rosuvastatin, which widens and relaxes blood vessels. This lowers high blood pressure. Also, it helps reduce bad cholesterol LDL (low-density lipoprotein) and increase good cholesterol HDL (High-density lipoprotein). In some cases, you may experience an allergic reaction, low blood pressure (Hypotension), itching of the skin, Steven Johnson syndrome (blistering of skin, mouth, eyes, and genitals), and decreased platelet cell count (thrombocytopenia). Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any of its components or if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, and about all the medications you are taking and pre-existing medical conditions.

About Telrose Tablet

Telrose Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure associated with high cholesterol levels. High blood pressure and high cholesterol levels are two diseases that occur simultaneously in certain patients. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a chronic condition in which the force exerted by the blood against the artery wall is high. High cholesterol, known as hyperlipidemia or dyslipidemia, occurs when there is an excess of the unhealthy balance of cholesterol in the blood.

Telrose Tablet is a combination of Telmisartan (angiotensin II receptor antagonists) and Rosuvastatin (HMG CoA reductase inhibitors). Telmisartan is a blood pressure-lowering medicine that works by blocking the action of a hormone called angiotensin II in the body, which causes the narrowing of blood vessels and leads to high blood pressure. Thereby, it widens and relaxes blood vessels. This lowers high blood pressure. Rosuvastatin is a lipid-lowering medicine that works by blocking liver enzymes  (HMG-CoA-reductase), causing the liver to produce less cholesterol. So, it increases the uptake and breakdown of cholesterol already in the blood by the liver. Thus, Telrose Tablet  lowers the levels of lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when lifestyle changes (like a low-fat diet) on their own have failed. Telrose Tablet helps in reducing the ‘bad’ cholesterol LDL (low-density lipoprotein) and increasing the ‘good’ cholesterol  HDL (High-density lipoprotein) by blocking our body’s production of ‘bad’ cholesterol. It also improves your body’s ability to remove it from your blood.

Take Telrose Tablet as prescribed. Your doctor will advise you on how often you take Telrose Tablet based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience an allergic reaction, low blood pressure (Hypotension), itching of the skin, Steven Johnson syndrome (blistering of skin, mouth, eyes, and genitals), and decreased platelet cell count (thrombocytopenia). Most of these side effects of Telrose Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor. It is important to have your lipid profile checked regularly.

Before starting Telrose Tablet , please inform your doctor if you have kidney disease or have undergone a kidney transplant. Renal artery stenosis(narrowing of the blood vessels to one or both kidneys), liver disease, and heart trouble. Do not take Telrose Tablet on your own as self-medication.

Medicinal Benefits

Telrose Tablet is used in patients suffering from coexisting Hypertension (High blood pressure) & Hyperlipidemia (High levels of cholesterol). Telrose Tablet improves patient compliance due to ease of dosing.  Telmisartan & Rosuvastatin are the latest drugs among blood pressure and blood cholesterol-lowering drugs, having minimal side effects & more beneficial effects on a patient. Telmisartan lowers blood pressure by blocking switches/receptors of Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme II, which is responsible for narrowing the blood vessels and increasing blood pressure. Rosuvastatin, on the other hand, acts by blocking an enzyme in the liver called HMG CoA reductase, which is responsible for the formation of cholesterol at high levels.
