Asthma is a breathing problem in which airways narrow, swell, and produce extra mucus, leading to difficulty in breathing. On the other hand, COPD is a group of progressive lung diseases, with emphysema (shortness of breath) and chronic bronchitis (inflammation of bronchial tubes).
