About Trioderm Plus Ointment
Trioderm Plus Ointment is used to treat fungal and bacterial infections of the skin. Also, it helps to reduce swelling, itching, and redness caused by certain skin problems. Fungal infection can affect our skin and cause infection, which may be contagious (spread from one person to another). Bacterial skin infections occur when bacteria enter the body through a scratch or cut in the skin. They often begin as small, red bumps that increase in size slowly.
Trioderm Plus Ointment consists of Clotrimazole (antifungal), Fluocinolone acetonide (corticosteroid), and Neomycin (antibacterial). Clotrimazole works by damaging the fungal cell membranes and killing fungi. Fluocinolone acetonide acts inside skin cells and inhibits the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. Neomycin inhibits the production of essential proteins required for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers, thereby destroying the bacteria.
Trioderm Plus Ointment is only for external use. Use Trioderm Plus Ointment as prescribed by the doctor. Avoid contact of Trioderm Plus Ointment with nose, ears, mouth, or eyes. If Trioderm Plus Ointment accidentally comes into contact with these areas, rinse with water thoroughly. Trioderm Plus Ointment may cause side effects such as acne, skin peeling and itching, pain, swelling, redness, irritation, or burning sensation at the application site. Most of these side effects of Trioderm Plus Ointment do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects worsen or persist, please consult your doctor.
