VELOZ M CAPSULE

VELOZ M CAPSULE is used in the treatment of Gastro Esophageal reflux disease (GERD), Heartburn, Hyperacidity, and Stomach ulcer. The detailed uses of VELOZ M CAPSULE are as follows:

• Treatment of Acid Reflux and Indigestion: VELOZ M CAPSULE is primarily used to relieve symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), heartburn, and indigestion. It combines two active ingredients that work synergistically to reduce stomach acid and improve digestive motility.
• Dual-Action Gastrointestinal Relief: VELOZ M CAPSULE contains Rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses acid production in the stomach, and Mosapride, a prokinetic agent that enhances movement of food through the digestive tract. Together, they help alleviate bloating, nausea, and abdominal discomfort.

VELOZ M CAPSULE belongs to a group of gastrointestinal agents used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD). VELOZ M CAPSULE is a combination of two drugs: Rabeprazole (proton pump inhibitor) and Mosapride (prokinetic agent). Rabeprazole works by blocking an enzyme called the gastric proton pump, which is responsible for acid production. Mosapride works by accelerating the gastric emptying time, increasing the food pipe, intestine, and stomach movement. It also increases the inferior oesophageal (food pipe) sphincter pressure, thereby preventing the backflow of food and acid into the mouth. Besides this, it also facilitates the intestine's movement, thereby increasing the frequency of bowel movements, softening stools, and reducing abdominal discomfort and pain. Mosapride enhanced the acid-inhibitory effect of PPIs such as Rabeprazole. Collectively, VELOZ M CAPSULE helps prevent acid reflux, thereby providing relief from acidity, heartburn, and dyspepsia (indigestion and abdominal pain). 

• Take VELOZ M CAPSULE 1 hour prior to food or as advised by the doctor.
• Follow your doctor’s instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication.
• Swallow VELOZ M CAPSULE as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, open, or chew it.

• Eat smaller meals more often.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. Alcohol intake leads to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increasing acidity and heartburn.
• Maintain a healthy weight by regular exercising.
• Avoid lying down after eating as it causes acid reflux.
• Avoid tight-fitting clothes as it might increase the pressure on the abdomen leading to acid reflux.
• Practice relaxation techniques and avoid stress by doing yoga or meditation.
• Avoid foods such as high-fat food, spicy food, chocolates, citrus fruits, pineapple, tomato, onion, garlic, tea and soda. 
• Avoid sitting continuously as it may trigger acidity. Take a break of 5 minutes every hour by doing brisk walking or stretching.

Do not take VELOZ M CAPSULE if you are allergic to any of its contents, have a gastrointestinal hemorrhage, porphyria (liver disorder) and cardiac impairment. Inform your doctor before taking VELOZ M CAPSULE if you have stomach pain, indigestion, vomiting food or blood or if you pass black stools,  have severe liver or kidney problems, if you are due to have Chromogranin A test. Do not take VELOZ M CAPSULE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. VELOZ M CAPSULE should not be given to children as safety has not been established. VELOZ M CAPSULE should be used with extreme caution in elderly patients since the risk of side effects is high. VELOZ M CAPSULE may cause osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones) and hypomagnesemia (low magnesium levels) on long-term treatment, the doctor may advise regular tests for monitoring your condition. Prolonged intake of PPIs or proton pump inhibitors like Rabeprazole may cause brittle bones so intake of Vitamin D and calcium can be additionally given by your doctor while using VELOZ M CAPSULE. VELOZ M CAPSULE may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert. Avoid consuming alcohol along with VELOZ M CAPSULE as it could lead to increased drowsiness and can elevate the production of stomach acid. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side effects.
