Vitravene 250mg Capsule belongs to a class of drugs known as 'antiviral,'  which is used to treat viral infections. It plays a vital role in treating Cytomegalovirus infection in immunosuppressed people (having HIV/AIDS) or who underwent bone marrow or organ transplantation. Cytomegalovirus infection is a common herpes virus infection with no symptoms or symptoms like fever and fatigue. Severe infection may affect the eyes, brain, or other internal organs. 

Vitravene 250mg Capsule contains Ganciclovir, an antiviral medication. It works by preventing the multiplication of viruses in human cells by acting on their DNA results in a decrease viral overload and the production of new viruses. Hence, this helps in clearing up the infection.

Take Vitravene 250mg Capsule as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. You are advised to take Vitravene 250mg Capsule for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending upon your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience nausea, headache, dizziness, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, increase liver enzymes, injection site reaction, and stomach pain. Directions for Use

Take the tablet of Vitravene 250mg Capsule with or without food or as directed by your physician. Swallow the whole capsule with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or break it.

  • Inform your doctor if you have or have ever had anemia (red blood cells do not bring enough oxygen to all parts of the body), neutropenia (less than a normal number of white blood cells), thrombocytopenia (less than a normal number of platelets) or other blood or bleeding problems as Vitravene 250mg Capsule may lower the blood cell count or if you have received or are receiving radiation (X-ray) therapy.
  • If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately: excessive tiredness, pale skin, headache, dizziness, confusion, fast heartbeat, difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, weakness, shortness of breath, unusual bleeding or bruising or sore throat, fever, chills, cough or other signs of infection.
