Baby Bottle Steriliser Options: Electric, Microwave & UV
No matter how carefully you wash a bottle, a baby bottle steriliser removes the bacteria and viruses that soap and water miss. Sterilisation is not optional during the first 12 months.

For households using more than three or four bottles a day, an electric steam steriliser is the most practical choice because of its larger capacity and hands-off cycle. Microwave models work well as a travel backup. UV sterilisers suit parents who want a no-water option, but confirm the product has been independently tested for infant use.
Sterilise all bottles, teats and feeding equipment before their first use. Afterwards, wash them thoroughly after every feed and sterilise them regularly, particularly during the first few months of life. Your paediatrician may recommend a different sterilisation routine depending on your baby's age, health and feeding needs.
