Amicolon SB Sachets 1 gm belongs to the group of medicines called probiotics used to treat and prevent diarrhoea, including rotaviral diarrhoea in children. Amicolon SB Sachets 1 gm may also be used for acne, antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea, Helicobacter pylori infection, traveller’s diarrhoea, diarrhoea in people with HIV/AIDS, and necrotising enterocolitis (a serious intestinal disease in premature infants).
Amicolon SB Sachets 1 gm contains ‘Saccharomyces boulardii’, a friendly micro-organism that helps fight disease-causing organisms in the gut, such as yeast and bacteria. Thereby, Amicolon SB Sachets 1 gm helps in treating diarrhoea. Amicolon SB Sachets 1 gm helps restore the balance of intestinal bacterial flora and strengthens immunity and overall gut health.
You are advised to take Amicolon SB Sachets 1 gm for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you, depending on your medical condition. Amicolon SB Sachets 1 gm is generally safe and does not cause any side effects. Sometimes, it may cause gas, bloating, and constipation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. Talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Diarrhoea: Diarrhoea is the condition in which there is a frequent need to empty the bowels. It is characterised by loose and watery stools. Diarrhoea could be acute or chronic.
