About Ascomia Tablet
Ascomia Tablet is used to treat or prevent anemia (lack of blood) caused by folic acid deficiency, anaemia in pregnancy, anaemia due to damaged red blood cells, anaemia in kidney dialysis patients. Anemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to various body tissues.
Ascomia Tablet contains Folic acid (a form of vitamin B9) that increases healthy red blood cell (RBC) production in the body and carries oxygen throughout the body.
You may experience certain side effects like nausea, black stool, constipation, loss of appetite, bloating or flatulence (gas) in some cases. Most of these side effects of Ascomia Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Ascomia Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using Ascomia Tablet . Ascomia Tablet should be used with caution in children and only if recommended by a doctor. - You are recommended to maintain a time gap of a minimum of 2 hours between taking Ascomia Tablet and indigestion remedies such as antacids containing magnesium or aluminium and edible clay.
- Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any sugars as Ascomia Tablet contains lactose.

Coadministration of Ascomia Tablet and Fluorouracil may increase the effects of Fluorouracil and increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anaemia (lack of blood), infections, and nerve damage.
How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Ascomia Tablet and Fluorouracil, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if you experience diarrhoea, paleness of skin, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body pains, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling in your hands and feet, contact your doctor.
Trimethoprim may decrease the blood levels and effects of Ascomia Tablet.
How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Ascomia Tablet and Trimethoprim, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop using any medications without consulting your doctor.
Coadministration of Ascomia Tablet and Cholestyramine may interfere with the absorption of Ascomia Tablet.

Although taking Cholestyramine and Ascomia Tablet together can result in an interaction, they can be taken together if prescribed by a doctor. However, if you experience Constipation, Diarrhea, Stomach pain, Nausea, or Loss of appetite, consult a doctor. Do not stop using any medications without consulting a doctor.
Coadministration of Ascomia Tablet and Carbamazepine may reduce the blood levels of Ascomia Tablet.

Although there is a possible interaction between Ascomia Tablet and Carbamazepine, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if your condition changes or you experience loss of seizure control, contact your doctor.
Co-administration of Ascomia Tablet with Capecitabine may increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anemia, infections, and nerve damage.

Although there is a possible interaction between Ascomia Tablet and Capecitabine, you can use these medicines together if prescribed by the doctor. However, if you experience paleness of skin, diarrhea, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body aches, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling sensation in the hands and feet, contact a doctor.
