I have developed spots or patches on my skin. What could this skin problem be?

M Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics)
Spots or patches on the skin can happen due to many different reasons, and the exact cause often depends on their colour, size, location, and whether they are itchy, painful, dry, or spreading. Common causes include fungal infections, allergies, eczema, pigmentation changes, sun exposure, acne marks, vitamin deficiencies, or certain skin conditions such as psoriasis or vitiligo. Some patches may appear red and itchy, while others may be dark, light-colored, dry, or scaly. Because many skin problems can look similar, it is important not to apply random creams, especially steroid-containing creams, without proper advice, as they can sometimes worsen the condition or change the appearance of the rash temporarily. Keep the skin clean, avoid scratching, use mild soaps, and apply a simple moisturiser if the skin feels dry or irritated. If the spots are spreading, changing colour, becoming painful, causing itching, or lasting for several weeks, it is best to consult a dermatologist for proper examination and diagnosis. A doctor may examine the skin closely and suggest creams, medicines, or tests depending on the exact cause. Early diagnosis and correct treatment usually help prevent the problem from worsening and improve healing.
HOW TO GET RID OF PIMPLE SCARS ON MY OS OIL SKIN TYPE
Y. Lakshmi Thulasi
Pharm-D (Post baccalaureate)
Oily skin pimple scars often heal gradually with patience and good skin care. Avoid squeezing pimples, apply a non-oily moisturiser and sunscreen every day, and gently wash your face twice a day with a gentle face wash designed for oily or acne-prone skin. Products that contain vitamin C, retinol, niacinamide, or salicylic acid may help progressively lessen scars. A dermatologist may be required to heal deep scars with laser therapy, chemical peels, or microneedling. To promote better skin healing, stay away from thick, greasy lotions and make sure you get enough sleep, stay hydrated, and eat a balanced diet.
I am suffering from acne on my skin. Please advise me on the appropriate treatment.

You may use over-the-counter creams or gels containing benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid to help improve mild acne (pimples). Washing your face with a gentle cleanser twice daily and using non-comedogenic moisturisers may also help. If your acne persists or worsens, please consult your doctor or a dermatologist for proper diagnosis and prescription treatment.
