Episert Cream is an antifungal medicine used in the treatment of tinea pedis/athlete's foot. It works by inhibiting the fungal cell membrane thereby kills the infection-causing fungus. Common side effects include tenderness, mild rash, dry skin, skin bruising, itching, irritation, redness, burning, or stinging sensation at the application site. It is an external preparation. Hence avoid contact with eyes, ears, nose and mouth.

About Episert Cream

Episert Cream belongs to the group of topical antifungal medications used to treat interdigital tinea pedis. Tinea pedis, also known as Athlete’s foot is a fungal infestation that begins as itching, redness and burning sensation between the toes. The athlete’s foot is called the interdigital tinea pedis as it starts between the digits.

Episert Cream is composed of Sertaconazole nitrate that prevents the formation and proliferation of fungal cells by damaging the fungal cell membrane. Thereby, Episert Cream treats fungal infections.

Episert Cream is meant for topical use only. In some cases, Episert Cream may cause certain side effects such as burning sensation, itching, redness and dry skin. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects consistently.

Episert Cream is used in the treatment of Tinea pedis/Athlete’s foot. The detailed uses of Episert Cream are as follows:

Athlete’s Foot (Tinea Pedis): Episert Cream especially effective for infections between the toes.
Ringworm (Tinea Corporis): Episert Cream treats red, scaly, itchy patches on the body.
Jock Itch (Tinea Cruris): Episert Cream is used for fungal infections in the groin and inner thighs.
Yeast Infections of the Skin: Episert Cream helps relieve itching, redness, and irritation caused by Candida species.
Tinea Versicolor: Episert Cream treats discolored patches on the chest, back, or arms caused by fungal overgrowth.

Directions for Use

It is typically recommended to be applied twice a day. However, follow your doctor's instructions on the dosage and timing of this medication for effective results.
Apply a small amount of Episert Cream on the affected area with clean hands.
Do not use any bandaging or clothing over the affected area. Wash your hands before and after using Episert Cream unless the treatment is for hands.

There are no known symptoms of Sertaconazole overdose, so an overdose with Episert Cream is unlikely.

Episert Cream should not be used in case of any known allergy to either of the components. Inform the doctor if you are on any medicines, herbs, supplements or vitamins. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant and breastfeeding. Avoid wearing tight and dark coloured clothing on the affected area after applying Episert Cream. Avoid getting Episert Cream in your eyes, nostrils or mouth. If contact occurs, rinse with water throughly.
