About Fcf-Z Tablet

Fcf-Z Tablet is used to treat iron deficiency and its associated anaemia. Iron deficiency anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells due to low iron levels. 

Fcf-Z Tablet contains Elemental Iron, Folic acid, and Elemental Zinc. Elemental Iron is an essential mineral that aids in producing red blood cells and transporting oxygen to body tissues. Folic acid helps form red blood cells and prevents and treats folate deficiency (low blood levels of folate). Elemental Zinc is a mineral that promotes the growth and development of body tissues.

Your doctor will decide the dosage based on your medical condition. In some cases, Fcf-Z Tablet may cause side effects like nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, and stomach upset. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

What if I have taken an overdose of Fcf-Z Tablet

Do not take more than the suggested dose of Fcf-Z Tablet as it may cause overdose. If you suspect you have taken overdose, please consult a doctor immediately.

Trimethoprim may decrease the blood levels and effects of Fcf-Z Tablet.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Fcf-Z Tablet and Trimethoprim, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop using any medications without consulting your doctor.
How does the drug interact with Fcf-Z Tablet:
Co-administration of Fcf-Z Tablet with Capecitabine may increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anemia, infections, and nerve damage.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Fcf-Z Tablet and Capecitabine, you can use these medicines together if prescribed by the doctor. However, if you experience paleness of skin, diarrhea, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body aches, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling sensation in the hands and feet, contact a doctor. Coadministration of Fcf-Z Tablet and Carbamazepine may reduce the blood levels of Fcf-Z Tablet.

Although there is a possible interaction between Fcf-Z Tablet and Carbamazepine, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if your condition changes or you experience loss of seizure control, contact your doctor.
How does the drug interact with Fcf-Z Tablet:
Coadministration of Fcf-Z Tablet and Cholestyramine may interfere with the absorption of Fcf-Z Tablet.

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking Cholestyramine and Fcf-Z Tablet together can result in an interaction, they can be taken together if prescribed by a doctor. However, if you experience Constipation, Diarrhea, Stomach pain, Nausea, or Loss of appetite, consult a doctor. Do not stop using any medications without consulting a doctor.
How does the drug interact with Fcf-Z Tablet:
Coadministration of Fcf-Z Tablet and Fluorouracil may increase the effects of Fluorouracil and increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anaemia (lack of blood), infections, and nerve damage.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Fcf-Z Tablet and Fluorouracil, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, if you experience diarrhoea, paleness of skin, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body pains, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling in your hands and feet, contact your doctor.

Sulfadiazine may decrease the blood levels and effects of Fcf-Z Tablet.

How does the drug interact with Fcf-Z Tablet:
Coadministration of dolutegravir with Fcf-Z Tablet can reduce the efficacy of dolutegravir.

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking Dolutegravir and Fcf-Z Tablet together can possibly result in an interaction, they can be taken together if prescribed by your doctor. It is advised to take dolutegravir either two hours before or six hours after taking a dose of Fcf-Z Tablet. Do not discontinue using any medications without consulting a doctor.

Fcf-Z Tablet is used to treat iron deficiency anaemia, a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells due to low iron levels.

Fcf-Z Tablet is a nutritional supplement that consists of Elemental Iron, Folic acid, and Elemental Zinc. It works by restoring iron levels and boosting the body's production of red blood cells (RBC), thus treating iron deficiency anaemia.

It is recommended not to take Fcf-Z Tablet along with tea, coffee, milk, and eggs since they might interfere with iron absorption from Fcf-Z Tablet .

Fcf-Z Tablet is best absorbed if taken on an empty stomach. But in some patients, Fcf-Z Tablet may cause gastrointestinal disturbances like stomach upset or constipation when taken without food. So, please take it as suggested by your doctor if you have stomach problems.

Antacids may interfere with the absorption of iron. Hence, it is advised to take Fcf-Z Tablet two hours before or four hours after taking antacids.

Zinc may decrease the absorption of antibiotics, thereby reducing their effectiveness. It is advised to maintain at least an hour gap between Fcf-Z Tablet and other antibiotics.

Foods rich in folic acid and iron include leafy greens like kale, spinach, asparagus, and broccoli, legumes such as lentils and chickpeas, fortified cereals, citrus fruits, red meat, beefliver, seafood, poultry, tofu, and seeds like pumpkin or sunflower.

The side effects of Fcf-Z Tablet include diarrhoea, constipation, nausea, and stomach upset. Consult the doctor if any of these symptoms persist or worsen.

Fcf-Z Tablet may interact with antibiotics (ciprofloxacin, cephalexin, penicillamine), fits medicines (phenytoin, phenobarbital), antacids, anti-cancer drugs (cisplatin), and HIV/AIDS medicines (ritonavir). Consult the doctor before taking Fcf-Z Tablet with these medications.
