Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to various tissues throughout the body.
Feropel 100mg/1.5mg Tablet is a combination of two drugs: Ferrous ascorbate and folic acid. Feropel 100mg/1.5mg Tablet works by increasing the production of red blood cells (RBCs) and haemoglobin (a protein) in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBCs is produced in the body so that each tissue gets a sufficient supply of oxygen.
Not everyone who is taking Feropel 100mg/1.5mg Tablet will get these side effects. In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, stomach upset or dark coloured stool. Most of these side effects of Feropel 100mg/1.5mg Tablet do not require medical attention and typically resolve on their own over time. Feropel 100mg/1.5mg Tablet is used for the treatment of anaemia.
You are not recommended to take Feropel 100mg/1.5mg Tablet with coffee, tea or dairy products at the same time as they may reduce the absorption of Feropel 100mg/1.5mg Tablet. However, you may drink coffee or tea 2 hours before or after taking Feropel 100mg/1.5mg Tablet.
You are not recommended to take Feropel 100mg/1.5mg Tablet with phenytoin as co-administration of these two medicines may reduce the concentration of Feropel 100mg/1.5mg Tablet in blood and increase the risk of seizures (fits).
