About Folvite Tablet
Folvite Tablet is used to treat or prevent anemia (lack of blood) caused by folic acid deficiency, anaemia in pregnancy, anaemia due to damaged red blood cells, anaemia in kidney dialysis patients. Anemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to various body tissues.
Folvite Tablet contains Folic acid (a form of vitamin B9) that increases healthy red blood cell (RBC) production in the body and carries oxygen throughout the body.
You may experience certain side effects like nausea, black stool, constipation, loss of appetite, bloating or flatulence (gas) in some cases. Most of these side effects of Folvite Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Folvite Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using Folvite Tablet . Folvite Tablet should be used with caution in children and only if recommended by a doctor. Inform your doctor if you have a stomach ulcer, vitamin B12 deficiency, any blood disorder, repeated blood transfusions, ulcerative colitis (inflammation of the colon), pernicious anemia (anemia due to lack of vitamin B12) or a folate-dependent tumor before taking Folvite Tablet .

- Inform your doctor if you have pernicious anaemia (anaemia due to lack of vitamin B12), a tumour or if you are receiving a stent in the heart or undergoing haemodialysis due to kidney failure, before taking Folvite Tablet .
- You are recommended to maintain a time gap of a minimum of 2 hours between taking Folvite Tablet and indigestion remedies such as antacids containing magnesium or aluminium and edible clay.
- Inform your doctor if you are allergic to any sugars as Folvite Tablet contains lactose.

Coadministration of Folvite Tablet and Carbamazepine may reduce the blood levels of Folvite Tablet.

Co-administration of Folvite Tablet with Capecitabine may increase the risk of serious side effects such as bleeding problems, anemia, infections, and nerve damage.

Although there is a possible interaction between Folvite Tablet and Capecitabine, you can use these medicines together if prescribed by the doctor. However, if you experience paleness of skin, diarrhea, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body aches, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling sensation in the hands and feet, contact a doctor. Trimethoprim may decrease the blood levels and effects of Folvite Tablet.

Coadministration of Folvite Tablet and Cholestyramine may interfere with the absorption of Folvite Tablet.
