My baby is 6 months old and has not passed stool for the last 3 days. Can I give him Gastica Drops for this?

Gastica Drops (Dill oil, Fennel oil, and Simethicone) are primarily used to relieve trapped wind and colic rather than to treat constipation, so they may not help your baby pass stool. It is quite common for 6-month-old babies to go a few days without a bowel movement, but you can try gently massaging their tummy or moving their legs in a cycling motion to encourage digestion. If your baby seems distressed, has a firm tummy, or the delay lasts more than 5 days, it is best to consult your paediatrician to rule out any underlying issues before giving any medication.
My baby passes blood during bowel movements but has no abdominal pain or visible piles. What treatment is needed?

If a baby passes blood during bowel movements without pain or visible piles, the most common cause is a small tear in the anal area called an Anal Fissure, often due to hard stools or constipation. However, in some infants, it can also be due to milk protein allergy or infection, so it should not be ignored. The first step is to keep stools soft by ensuring adequate feeding (breast milk is best), gentle hydration if advised, and avoiding straining; keeping the anal area clean, applying a doctor-recommended soothing ointment, and giving warm water baths can help with healing. Do not use any medicines without medical advice, and it is important to consult a pediatrician to confirm the cause, especially if bleeding repeats, increases, or is mixed with mucus, so that proper treatment can be started safely.
