Gelusil MPS Xtra Cool Syrup is used to treat acidity-related stomach discomfort such as heartburn, indigestion, gastritis (inflammation of the stomach), and stomach upset. The stomach is protected by a mucus layer. When excess acid damages this layer, it can cause acidity and heartburn.

Gelusil MPS Xtra Cool Syrup contains aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, and dimethicone, which work together to relieve acidity and gas. It helps neutralise excess stomach acid and reduce heartburn and indigestion. It also helps break down gas bubbles and ease bloating.

Take Gelusil MPS Xtra Cool Syrup as suggested by your doctor. In some cases, you may experience common side effects such as constipation, loss of appetite, weakness and diarrhoea. Dimethicone works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating gas expulsion through flatus or belching (burping). It also prevents accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract.

Do not take Gelusil MPS Xtra Cool Syrup for longer durations unless advised by the doctor. Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better even after taking Gelusil MPS Xtra Cool Syrup for 1-2 weeks.
