About Liquet Gel 20 gm

Liquet Gel 20 gm belongs to the group of medications called ‘dermatological agents' primarily indicated for the management of scars occurring due to surgery, burns, stretch marks, acne, and breast amputations. The scar is a brown or pale pink patch of skin that marks the site where the skin has healed.

Liquet Gel 20 gm contains Allantoin, Heparin sodium, and Allium cepa extract. Allantoin is a keratolytic agent that removes dead skin cells. It also has the effect of speeding up wound healing and softening the skin. Heparin sodium is an anti-inflammatory agent that reduces inflammation symptoms. Allium cepa extract prevents infection by killing the microorganisms. As a result, Liquet Gel 20 gm effectively inhibits scar tissue growth and softens scar tissue.

Use this medication exactly as prescribed by the doctor. The common side-effects of Liquet Gel 20 gm are pruritus, erythema (redness), telangiectasia (visible dilation of blood vessels), and scar atrophy (scar lower than skin surface). These side effects do not necessitate medical treatment and fade away with time. However, if these side effects last for more than a week, you should seek medical help.

It is not recommended to use Liquet Gel 20 gm if you are allergic to any of its contents. Liquet Gel 20 gm should not be used on open wounds, unhealed wounds, or mucous membranes (eyes, nose, mouth, and genital areas). Pregnant and breastfeeding women should exercise caution when using Liquet Gel 20 gm. Liquet Gel 20 gm is not recommended for use in children under one year.
