About MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET

MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET belongs to a group ‘Vitamins' which is used in the treatment of peripheral neuropathies, megaloblastic anaemia caused by vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 is a vital dietary nutrient and deficiency of vitamin B12 can lead to peripheral neuropathy, megaloblastic anaemia, and many other serious conditions.  

MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET contains methylcobalamin, a form of vitamin B12, which helps to protect the nerves from damage and also helps to promote blood cell production. It regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis.

Take MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET with or without food. Swallow MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew, or break the tablet. You are advised to take MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and headache. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you have signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, breathing problems.

To treat your condition effectually, continue taking MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET for as long as your doctor has prescribed. Please do not stop taking MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET without consulting your doctor. Do not take MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET should be given to children as advised by your doctor. Keep your doctor informed about your present and past medical history and about your ongoing medicines to rule out any side effects.

Uses of MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET

Peripheral neuropathy, megaloblastic anaemia.

Directions for Use

Tablet: Take MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET with or without food. Swallow MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew, or break the tablet. You are advised to take MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. If you are using MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET in lozenge, disintegrating tablet, or sublingual tablet form do not swallow the whole of it. Instead, allow it to dissolve in your mouth without chewing. If you are using a sublingual tablet then it should be kept under the tongue.Injection: A healthcare professional will administer the injection, so do not self-administer. It is injected into a muscle, maybe 1 to 3 times per week.

Drug Warning

Do not take MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET if you are allergic to vitamin B12 or cobalt. To treat your condition effectually, continue taking MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET for as long as your doctor has prescribed. Please do not stop taking MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET without consulting your doctor. Do not take MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET should be given to children as advised by your doctor. Inform your doctor if you have low levels of potassium in the blood, and iron or folic acid deficiency, or if you have/had optic nerve damage.

  • Pregnancy

  • Breast Feeding

    Consult your doctor before taking MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET; your doctor will decide whether MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET can be taken by breastfeeding mothers or not.

  • Driving

    MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET is safe to use during driving.

  • Liver

    Dose adjustment may be needed in patients with liver impairment. Please consult your doctor if you have a liver impairment or any concerns regarding this.

  • Kidney

    Dose adjustment may be needed in patients with kidney impairment. Please consult your doctor if you have kidney impairment or any concerns regarding this.

Do not discontinue MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET without consulting your doctor. To treat your condition effectually continue taking MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET for as long as prescribed. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you feel any difficulty while taking MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET; your doctor will adjust the dose.

Nausea, headache, loss of appetite are the common side effects of MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET. These side effects do not require any medical attention, if it persists please inform your doctor.

Inform your doctor about all your present medications especially if you are taking chloramphenicol, colchicine, oral diabetes medicine (metformin), medicines that reduce stomach acids, such as cimetidine, lansoprazole, omeprazole, Nexium, Prilosec, Zantac, and other antibiotic medications. These medications may interfere with MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET and cause unpleasant side effects or might make MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET less effective.

Vitamin B12 deficiency occurs when you don't have enough Methylcobalamine or Mecobalmin levels in the body. You can include natural Vitamin B12 sources like eggs, beef, liver, chicken, trout, salmon, tuna fish, clams, fortified breakfast cereal, low-fat milk, yoghurt, and cheese in your diet for treating the deficiency. If you still have low levels of B12, please consult your doctor for its supplements.

Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of MOVACOBAL MD3 TABLET. Drink lots of fluids and eat food rich in fibre. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience excess diarrhoea consult your doctor.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and follow your usual dosage.
