Description

Gently clear the way for your little one’s comfort with Nasivion Mini Baby 0.01% Nasal Drops, a paediatrician-trusted formula specifically designed for infants and newborns. This 10ml solution is meticulously engineered to provide rapid relief from nasal congestion, helping your baby breathe, feed, and sleep more comfortably.

When your baby suffers from a cold or allergies, even simple tasks like nursing or sleeping can become difficult. Nasivion Mini acts as a dependable staple in your nursery wellness kit, bridging the gap between discomfort and ease. The compact, travel-friendly bottle ensures you have a fast-acting solution on hand whenever congestion strikes.

Features

  • Active Ingredient: Contains exactly 0.01% w/v Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride IP.
  • Volume: 10ml squeeze bottle with an infant-safe, built-in dropper tip.
  • Base: Prepared in an isotonic aqueous solution to prevent nasal stinging.
  • Age Indication: Specifically indicated for neonates and infants up to 1 year of age.
  • Appearance: Clear, colourless, and odourless liquid formulation.
  • Preservative: Formulated with Benzalkonium Chloride (0.03% w/v) to maintain sterility.

Key Benefits

  • Fast-Acting Nasal Congestion Relief: Formulated to provide rapid comfort, the active ingredient begins to shrink swollen nasal blood vessels in as little as 25 seconds, clearing the airway for immediate breathing relief.
  • Long-Lasting 12-Hour Breathing Comfort: A single application delivers sustained decongestion for up to 12 hours, minimising the need for frequent reapplication and allowing your infant to rest comfortably through the night.
  • Specially Formulated for Infant Safety: With a highly diluted 0.01% concentration of Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride, this formulation is clinically calibrated to be safe and gentle on the sensitive nasal mucosa of babies under 1 year.
  • Improves Infant Sleep and Feeding Quality: Babies are obligate nose breathers. By unblocking the nasal passages, these drops restore normal breathing, making it significantly easier for your baby to latch, nurse, and sleep without distress.
  • Targeted Vasoconstrictor Action: Rather than just thinning mucus, the medicine actively targets the root cause of stuffiness by constricting dilated blood vessels in the nose, reducing internal swelling effectively.

(Note: As a pharmaceutical product, a composition label replaces a standard nutrition label.

  • Benzalkonium Chloride Solution IP: 0.03% w/v (Preservative)

Directions for Use

How to Administer Nasivion Mini Baby Drops:

  1. Wash Hands: Ensure your hands are thoroughly washed and dried before handling the dropper.
  2. Position Your Baby: Lay your infant flat on their back. You may place a small, rolled towel under their shoulders to gently tilt their head back.
  3. Administer the Drops: Carefully hold the dropper just above the nostril (do not insert it deep inside). Squeeze gently to instil 1 drop into each nostril.
  4. Keep the Baby Still: Keep your baby’s head tilted back for about 1–2 minutes to allow the medication to spread evenly across the nasal mucosa.
  5. Clean the Dropper: Wipe the tip of the dropper with a clean, dry tissue before firmly replacing the cap to prevent contamination.

6.Infant Dosage Callout:

  • Age up to 4 weeks: 1 drop in each nostril, 2–3 times a day.
  • Age 5 weeks to 1 year: 1 to 2 drops in each nostril, 2–3 times a day.

(Strictly adhere to your paediatrician's prescribed dosage).

Pro Tip: Administer the drops 15 to 20 minutes before feeding or bedtime to ensure your baby can nurse and sleep comfortably.

Safety Information

  • Usage Duration Limit: Do not use this product for more than 5 to 7 consecutive days. Prolonged use can lead to "rebound congestion" (rhinitis medicamentosa), where nasal passages become chronically swollen.
  • Who Should NOT Use: Do not use if your baby is allergic to Oxymetazoline or any other excipients in the formula. Avoid if the child has a history of narrow-angle glaucoma or certain heart conditions (unless advised by a doctor).
  • Contamination Warning: To prevent the spread of infection, do not share the same bottle between multiple children.
  • Overdose Caution: Strictly stick to the 1-2 drop dosage. Overdosing an infant with decongestants can cause systemic side effects, including lethargy, drops in body temperature, or irregular heartbeats.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place below 30°C. Protect from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Consult a physician if congestion persists beyond 5 days, is accompanied by a high fever, thick yellow/green mucus, or if your baby exhibits wheezing or difficulty breathing.

FAQs

Nasivion Mini Baby 0.01% Nasal Drops 10ml contain a mild vasoconstrictor called Oxymetazoline. When applied, it gently shrinks the swollen and dilated blood vessels in the baby's nasal passages, opening up the airways and relieving the blocked nose quickly.

You should only use these drops for a maximum of 5 to 7 consecutive days. Continuous use beyond this period can cause rebound congestion, making the blocked nose worse. Always consult your paediatrician if symptoms persist.

Yes, it is actually recommended to administer the drops about 15 to 20 minutes before feeding. This clears the nasal passages, allowing your obligate nose-breathing baby to latch and suckle without pausing to gasp for air.

When used at the recommended dosage, side effects are rare. However, some infants may experience mild, temporary stinging, sneezing, or dryness in the nose. If you notice severe irritation or lethargy, stop use and consult a doctor immediately.

Saline drops are simple saltwater solutions used to wash out and thin thick mucus; they can be used daily. Nasivion 0.01% contains active medicine (Oxymetazoline) to actively shrink swollen nasal tissues and should only be used for a few days during severe colds.

A single extra drop is usually not a cause for panic. However, monitor your baby. If they appear unusually sleepy, sweaty, or have an irregular heartbeat, contact emergency medical services or your paediatrician immediately.

No. Nasivion Mini Baby 0.01% is specifically formulated for babies under 1 year. For toddlers aged 1 to 6 years, Nasivion Child 0.025% Nasal Drops is the appropriate formulation. Always match the concentration to the child's age.

The drops can safely relieve nasal congestion during a cold or fever. However, they do not treat the underlying infection or reduce the fever. You should consult your paediatrician for proper fever management.

Clinical formulations of Oxymetazoline typically begin to reduce nasal swelling in as little as 25 seconds, with peak decongestion achieved within a few minutes, lasting up to 12 hours.

While it is available over the counter, it is highly recommended to consult your paediatrician before administering any medicated drops to an infant under 1 year to ensure it is appropriate for their specific symptoms.
