• Begin by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Pat them dry with a towel. You may also use an alcohol swab to clean your finger before testing, but make sure it's completely dry before you start.
• Take a diabetes test strip from the OneTouch Ultra Test Strips 25 pack and insert it into the slot on your glucometer just before pricking your finger.
• Using a clean lancet (a device that holds the needle), prick the end of your finger.
• After pricking your finger, wait until a drop of blood forms. Wipe off the first drop, and then put one or two drops onto the test strip attached to your glucometer.
• Apply pressure using a clean cotton pad or gauze on the prick site until the bleeding stops.
• Your blood glucose level will now appear on the meter's display. It's important to note down your readings to monitor your glucose levels over time.
• Repeat this process each time you test your blood glucose level.

Store the test strips in a cool, dry place between 5C and 30C. Always ensure that the meter and test strips are at the same temperature before testing. Do not open the OneTouch Ultra Test Strips 25 vial until you're ready to perform a test. After use, close the cap on the vial tightly to avoid contamination and damage. Only store unused test strips in their original vial. Test strips should not be reused if blood, control solution, or any contaminants have come into contact with them. With clean, dry hands, you can touch the test strip anywhere on its surface. However, do not bend, cut, or modify it in any way. When you first open a vial of test strips, record the discard date on the label.
