About Psoraflake Ointment
Psoraflake Ointment is used to treat skin conditions like psoriasis. It may also be used for neurodermatitis, hyperkeratotic skin conditions, cracked heels and keratoderma. Psoriasis is a skin disorder in which skin cells multiply up to 10 times faster than usual, leading to skin build-up into bumpy (uneven) red patches covered with white scales.
Psoraflake Ointment is composed of two medicines: Salicylic acid (peeling agent) and Coal Tar (keratoplastic). Salicylic acid helps shed dead skin cells by reducing redness and swelling (inflammation). Coal tar causes the skin to shed dead cells from its top layer and slows down the growth of skin cells.
Psoraflake Ointment is for topical use only (for skin application). Psoraflake Ointment may cause common side effects such as a burning sensation, skin irritation, itching, and redness at the application site.
