About Sanguis Tablet 10's
Sanguis Tablet 10's belongs to a class of medications called 'haematinics' used to treat anaemia (lack of blood) due to iron deficiency and chronic kidney disease. Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to various body tissues.
Sanguis Tablet 10's contains Ferrous ascorbate, which is a combination of iron and vitamin C. Iron works by replenishing iron stores, and vitamin C enhances iron absorption in the body. Thus, Sanguis Tablet 10's helps to treat iron deficiency.
In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea or dark-coloured stool. Most of these side effects of Sanguis Tablet 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Sanguis Tablet 10's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using Sanguis Tablet 10's. Sanguis Tablet 10's should be used in children only if recommended by a doctor.

Sanguis Tablet 10's is used to treat anaemia (lack of blood) due to iron deficiency and chronic kidney disease.
Sanguis Tablet 10's contains Ferrous ascorbate, which is a combination of iron and vitamin C. Iron works by increasing red blood cells (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBCs are produced in the body so that each tissue gets a sufficient supply of oxygen. Thus, Sanguis Tablet 10's replenishes iron stores in the body. Vitamin C enhances iron absorption in the body. Thereby, Sanguis Tablet 10's helps to treat iron deficiency.
You are not recommended to take Sanguis Tablet 10's with coffee, tea or dairy products at the same time, as they may reduce the absorption of Sanguis Tablet 10's. However, you may drink coffee or tea 2 hours before or after taking Sanguis Tablet 10's.
You are not recommended to take Sanguis Tablet 10's with phenytoin as co-administration of these two medicines may reduce the concentration of Sanguis Tablet 10's in blood and increase the risk of seizures (fits). However, please consult a doctor before taking Sanguis Tablet 10's with phenytoin.
