About FERROUS ASCORBATE

FERROUS ASCORBATE belongs to a class of medications called 'haematinics' used to treat anemia (lack of blood) due to iron deficiency and chronic kidney disease. Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry the adequate oxygen required to various body tissues.

FERROUS ASCORBATE contains Ferrous ascorbate, which is a combination of iron and vitamin C. Ironworks by reloading iron stores, and vitamin C enhances iron absorption in the body. Thus, FERROUS ASCORBATE helps to treat iron deficiency.

Take FERROUS ASCORBATE as advised by your doctor. In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea or dark-coloured stool. Most of these side effects of FERROUS ASCORBATE do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to FERROUS ASCORBATE or any other medicines. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using FERROUS ASCORBATE. FERROUS ASCORBATE should be used in children only if recommended by a doctor. You are recommended to take FERROUS ASCORBATE for as long as your doctor advises it.

Uses of FERROUS ASCORBATE

Anaemia

Medicinal Benefits

FERROUS ASCORBATE contains Ferrous ascorbate, which is a combination of iron and vitamin C. Iron works by reloading iron stores by increasing red blood cells (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBCs are produced in the body so that each tissue gets a sufficient supply of oxygen. Thus, it replenishes iron stores in the body. Vitamin C enhances iron absorption in the body. Thereby, FERROUS ASCORBATE helps to treat iron deficiency.
