About Senasof Tablet
Senasof Tablet is used for the short-term relief of constipation. Constipation refers to infrequent bowel movements with stools that are often dry, hard, and difficult to pass.
Senasof Tablet contains Senna Glycosides, which work by stimulating the muscles of the intestines and helping retain water in the bowel, making stools softer and promoting easier bowel movements.
In some cases, you may experience common side effects such as flatulence (wind), abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or brown discolouration of urine. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention. However, if these side effects persist, please consult your doctor.
Do not take Senasof Tablet if you are allergic to any of its contents. Do not take Senasof Tablet if you have galactosemia (a galactose intolerance disorder). Consult your doctor before taking Senasof Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; your doctor will prescribe it only if the benefits outweigh the risks.

Senasof tablet belongs to the class of stimulant laxatives. It contains substances called senosides, which irritate the lining of the bowel and stimulate the bowel to go into a rhythmic set of contractions, which help in expelling out the faecal matter.
Do not use this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Exercise utmost caution in case of kidney disease and heart failure as this medicine can increase fluid volume and put further strain on these organs in case of disease. Inform your doctor and use this medicine with caution in case of a recent change in bowel habits, reduced gut motility, intestinal obstruction, abdominal disorders such as IBD, appendicitis, bowel atony, heart failure, dehydration, kidney failure and any disorders causing chronic diarrhoea or rectal bleeding. Use this medicine with caution if you are taking any diuretics/water tablets, heart medicines or steroids.
A fibre-rich diet is very helpful in ensuring normal bowel movements and preventing haemorrhoids. Whole-grain foods, fruits, vegetables, pulses, whole-wheat bread and pasta are rich in fibre. Limit or avoid your use of alcohol and caffeine as these can dysregulate normal bowel movements. Exercising for 30 minutes every day can be very beneficial in staying fit and preventing the occurrence of piles. You may even break down your daily exercise regimen into bite-sized workouts or activities of 10 minutes each.
Senasof Tablet belongs to the group of medicines called laxatives, used for the short-term relief of constipation.
Tell your doctor if you have a bowel disorder (such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis), heart disease, stomach pain, nausea, or vomiting. Consult your doctor before taking Senasof Tablet in these conditions.
Senasof Tablet contains Sennosides or Senna Glycosides (dried leaves of the senna plant), which are stimulant laxatives. They work by stimulating the muscles of the intestines and helping retain water in the bowel, making stools softer and promoting easier bowel movements.
It might take 6-12 hours for Senasof Tablet to show the effect of Senasof Tablet .
Diarrhoea might occur if Senasof Tablet is taken in larger doses. Drink lots of fluids and eat food rich in fibre if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in your stools (tarry stools) or experience excessive diarrhoea, consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
Do not take Senasof Tablet for more than a week, as it might lead to dependency on Senasof Tablet for a bowel movement. Taking Senasof Tablet for longer durations may also cause dehydration and an imbalance of fluids and salts in the body, which can affect the tightness of muscles in the intestine. If your bowel movements are irregular, even after taking Senasof Tablet for five days, consult your doctor.
Generally, Senasof Tablet is taken at bedtime to help stimulate a bowel movement in the morning. However, it's always best to consult with your doctor or pharmacist to determine the most suitable time for you to take Senasof Tablet , as they can provide personalized guidance based on your individual needs.
It is recommended to use Senasof Tablet for a short period, generally 3 to 7 days, and only when necessary. If you experience persistent constipation or don't see improvement after 3 days, consult your doctor for further guidance and alternative treatments.
