Silverex Heal Gel 15 gm belongs to the group of medicines called antiseptic agents primarily used to treat and prevent infections in or around skin wounds, cuts, and scratches. A skin wound is a damage to the surface of the skin. Some types of wounds are cuts, scrapes, scratches, and punctured skin.
Silverex Heal Gel 15 gm contains colloidal silver. It attaches to proteins on the cell walls of bacteria, disrupts their DNA, hampers vital functions and damages microbial cell walls. Thereby, Silverex Heal Gel 15 gm helps prevent infections in the affected area.
Silverex Heal Gel 15 gm is for external use only. In some cases, Silverex Heal Gel 15 gm may cause common side effects like a burning sensation and irritation at the application site. Maintaining a minimum gap between Silverex Heal Gel 15 gm and antibiotic medication is preferable. Absorption of antibiotics may be affected by Silverex Heal Gel 15 gm when used together.
Avoid concomitant use of Silverex Heal Gel 15 gm with other topical products such as cosmetics, sunscreens, lotions, moisturizers, insect repellent creams, and other gels.
Apply Silverex Heal Gel 15 gm to shallow wounds and completely fill the deep wounds. Cover with an appropriate dressing such as cotton dressing or gauze.
In rare cases, Silverex Heal Gel 15 gm may cause argyria, a bluish-grey skin discolouration that is usually permanent. Talk to your doctor if you have any concerns.
