Why has my urine changed to a light reddish-yellow colour?
Dr S Aneela
M. Pharm (Pharmacology)., PhD
A change in your urine colour to light reddish-yellow may result from consuming certain foods, such as beetroot or berries, food colouring, or certain medications. Mild dehydration can also make your urine appear darker or slightly reddish. However, if the colour change persists or is accompanied by symptoms such as pain, burning during urination, fever, or discomfort, it may indicate the presence of blood or pigments in the urine, possibly due to a urinary tract infection, kidney stones, or another urinary condition. It is advisable to consult a doctor or urologist to determine the underlying cause.
