About Zecal 40 Plus Tablet

Zecal 40 Plus Tablet belongs to the class of medicines called dietary supplements primarily used to treat calcium and vitamin D3 deficiency. Also, it is used to prevent bone diseases such as osteoporosis and rickets. Osteoporosis is a bone disease that weakens and thins bones by decreasing bone density. As the density of bones decreases, they weaken and are more likely to break. Rickets is a bone disease caused by softening and weakening bones in children due to inadequate vitamin D. 

Zecal 40 Plus Tablet contains Calcium, Vitamin D3, and isoflavones. Calcium is used to prevent or treat calcium deficiency in people who do not get enough calcium from their diet. It provides essential nutrients to maintain bone formation. Vitamin D3 helps the body to absorb calcium and phosphorous. Thereby increases calcium levels in the blood and helps to build and maintain strong bones. Isoflavones work by preventing bone loss and strengthening bones. 

Take Zecal 40 Plus Tablet as prescribed. You are advised to take Zecal 40 Plus Tablet for as long as your doctor has recommended it based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience constipation, flatulence (gas) or nausea. Most of these side effects of Zecal 40 Plus Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. 

If you are allergic to Zecal 40 Plus Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult a doctor before taking Zecal 40 Plus Tablet . Zecal 40 Plus Tablet is not recommended for children unless recommended by a doctor. You are advised to avoid using other vitamin D preparations with Zecal 40 Plus Tablet .   • Treatment of Calcium Deficiency: Zecal 40 Plus Tablet helps restore low calcium levels (hypocalcemia) in the blood, which is essential for maintaining healthy bones, teeth, and muscles.
  • Treatment of Vitamin D3 Deficiency: Zecal 40 Plus Tablet increases vitamin D3 levels in the body, which helps improve calcium absorption and promotes bone strength.
  • Management of Osteoporosis: Zecal 40 Plus Tablet helps slow down the progression of osteoporosis by improving bone density and strengthening the bones.
  • Management of Rickets (in children): Zecal 40 Plus Tablet is used to treat or prevent rickets (soft, weak bones caused by low calcium and vitamin D3 levels) by supporting healthy bone growth and development.

What if I have taken an overdose of Zecal 40 Plus Tablet

Avoid exceeding the recommended dose as it might cause an overdose. If you suspect you have taken an overdose, seek immediate medical attention.

Drug Warnings

If you are allergic to Zecal 40 Plus Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult a doctor before taking Zecal 40 Plus Tablet . Zecal 40 Plus Tablet is not recommended for children unless advised by a doctor. Regular blood tests are recommended while taking Zecal 40 Plus Tablet to monitor calcium levels in the blood. Do not take Zecal 40 Plus Tablet if you have hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in the blood) or hypervitaminosis D (high levels of vitamin D in the blood). You are recommended to avoid using other vitamin D preparations with Zecal 40 Plus Tablet .

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Include dairy products like milk, yoghurt, cheese, or milk-based custard in your diet.
  • Eat daily a serving of broccoli, cabbage, bok choy (Chinese white cabbage), spinach, and other green leafy vegetables.
  • Snack on calcium-rich nuts like Brazil nuts or almonds.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds over your food, vegetables, and salads. Sesame seeds are high in calcium.
  • Avoid or reduce the intake of caffeine, soft drinks, and alcohol as they might inhibit calcium absorption.
  • Replace the meat with tofu or tempeh for extra calcium in your food.
  • Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

You are not recommended to take Zecal 40 Plus Tablet with levothyroxine as co-administration of these two medicines at the same time may reduce the effectiveness of levothyroxine. However, if you are supposed to take both medicines, you are advised to maintain a time gap of a minimum of 4 hours between Zecal 40 Plus Tablet and levothyroxine.

You are not recommended to take Zecal 40 Plus Tablet if you have hypervitaminosis D (high levels of vitamin D in blood) as it may worsen the condition. However, please consult a doctor before using Zecal 40 Plus Tablet .
