Do not take CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE if you are allergic to CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE or any of its ingredients. Tell your doctor if you have liver problems (jaundice), muscle problems (myasthenia gravis), heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia), diabetes, electrolyte imbalance (low potassium or magnesium level), and kidney or liver diseases.  In rare cases, the use of CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE can cause diarrhoea, so if you have watery or bloody diarrhoea, stop taking CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE and call your doctor. However, do not take any anti-diarrheal medicine until your doctor tells you. Maintain a minimum gap of two hours between CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE and antacid, vitamin, and mineral medicines. Consult your doctor before taking CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE as it causes increased dizziness. CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE may cause dizziness and vision problems, so be cautious while driving. CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE is not recommended for use in children unless recommended by a doctor. Also, it is recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE contains antibiotics, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will, in fact, stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance).

Drug-Drug Interactions: CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE may have interaction with pain killers (aspirin, ibuprofen), antibiotic (azithromycin, ciprofloxacin, sulfamethoxazole, trimethoprim, metronidazole, erythromycin), anti-diabetic (metformin), diuretics (furosemide),  antihistamine medicines (chlorpheniramine), blood thinners (warfarin)

Drug-Food Interactions: Eating grapefruit during antibiotics treatment can prevent the body from utilising CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE properly. So, avoid intake of grapefruit or grapefruit juice with the antibiotic. Avoid taking too much of calcium-enriched foods and drinks as it might affect the working of CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE. Aluminium and magnesium-containing antacids, Multivitamins, multi-minerals containing zinc and iron should not be consumed along with CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE; maintain a minimum gap of two hours between both.

Drug-Disease Interactions: CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE may interact in patients with diabetes mellitus, renal dysfunction, liver disease, seizure disorders, colitis (bowel disease that affects the large intestine, causing irritation, inflammation, and ulcers in the colon), muscle problem (muscle weakness).

• Probiotics should be taken after taking the full course of CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE to restore some of the healthy bacteria in the intestines that may have been killed. Taking probiotics after antibiotic treatment can reduce the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhoea. Certain fermented foods like yogurt, cheese, sauerkraut, kombucha, and kimchi can help restore the intestine's good bacteria. 
• Include more fibre-enriched food in your diet, as it can be easily digested by your gut bacteria, which helps stimulate their growth. Thus, fibre foods may help restore healthy gut bacteria after a course of antibiotics. Whole grains like whole-grain bread, brown rice should be included in your diet. 
• Avoid taking too much calcium, iron-enriched foods and drinks as it might affect the working of CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE. 
• Avoid intake of alcoholic beverages with CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE as it can make you dehydrated and affect your sleep. This can make it harder for your body to aid the CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE in fighting off infections.

• CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE contains ornidazole, which may affect coagulation test or prothrombin time (time is taken for blood clotting), liver function tests, and serum tests. Regularly monitor these tests if you are taking CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE.
• Cefixime in CEFIXIME+ORNIDAZOLE may cause live bacterial vaccines (such as typhoid vaccine) to not work as well. Do not have any immunization/vaccinations while using this medication unless your doctor tells you to.
